The pendant is a single piece of natural nacre — what's sometimes called "sea opal," because it shifts colour as it turns: green, violet, soft pink, a thread of gold. It's strung simply, on a short run of small white shell chips, so there's nothing competing with it.
Cầu vồng means rainbow in Vietnamese — the most direct way to say what the shell does in the light.
